Hendrick's Orbium is what's known as a quininated gin, as it was distilled with additional extracts of quinine, wormwood and blue lotus blossom. Created by the legendary master distiller, Lesley Gracie, Orbium contains the same base distillates as Hendrick’s and is made in batches of just 500 litres.
The name Orbium derives from the word ‘orb’, the plural of Orbis and Latin for circle. Gracie felt this circular symbol represented the gin’s rounded character, and the ‘all seeing eye’ on the bottle design mirrors this theme.
NoseFloral lotus and a woody quinine bitterness balance beautifully against bright juniper and lemon zest.
PalateHerbaceous coriander, a flash of tart citrus and a helping of that trademark cucumber bring depth and complexity to the prominent sweet floral tones. Bitter bark notes fill the backdrop.
FinishEarthy wormwood, dried grass and piney juniper bring Orbium to a close.
